2022 Most Trusted Car: Honda Civic

The Honda Civic is Canada’s car. Built in Alliston, Ont., this ever-popular and sensible compact car has been voted by Canadians as the Most Trusted Car in the 2022 AutoTrader Canada’s Choice Awards. After tallying tens of thousands of votes from people all over the country, the Civic lineup, which includes the sedan, hatchback, and performance-oriented Si and Type R models, has emerged as the car Canadians trust the most.

The Honda Civic has been often referred to as “Canada’s car” because it’s built locally and has been a popular staple on our roads ever since it arrived in 1973. Since then, it has sold 2,250,000 units and continues to be one of Honda’s most popular models here.

Currently in its 11th generation, the Honda Civic was recently overhauled. With an all-new and much more mature design, Honda has once again raised the bar for the compact car segment by making its Civic feel a class above the rest. With its refined driving dynamics, user-friendly operation, well-built and stylish interior, and reputation for reliability, the Honda Civic is impressive and its long history in this country means it has earned the trust of Canadian drivers.

Our experts also agree with the Canadian voters; our jury of more than 20 automotive experts have also voted the Honda Civic as the Best Compact Car and Best Overall Car in the 2022 AutoTrader Awards, meaning the lineup has won three highly coveted trophies in this year’s program.
