People’s Choice Awards: Most Trusted Automaker – Toyota

Canadians have cast their ballots, and Toyota has been voted as the Most Trusted Automaker in the 2020 autoTRADER.ca People’s Choice Awards. After tallying thousands of votes from people all over the country, the Japanese automaker has emerged as the one Canadians trust most.

Toyota, which builds its popular RAV4 and Corolla in its Cambridge, Ont., manufacturing facility, is celebrated for many reasons, the most important of which is its reputation for building dependable and reliable cars (the fact that some are built in Canada is definitely a bonus). The automaker was a pioneer in the green car space with its Prius and is now also adding stylish designs and standard safety features to its lineup. With its reputation for reliability, Toyotas have also been known to have high residual values.

“For more than 50 years, Toyota has provided drivers across Canada with quality vehicles that are not only safe, reliable and fuel efficient, but also attractive and fun to drive,” said Larry Hutchinson, President and CEO, Toyota Canada. “It’s an honour to be so trusted by Canadians, and we’ll keep working hard to exceed their expectations.”

Toyota has an incredibly diverse lineup that includes sports cars, a minivan, sedans, hatchbacks, crossovers, SUVs, trucks, hybrids, and more, so there really is a Toyota for every need and budget. The company is also big on offering consumers more choice, and whether that’s by adding all-wheel drive to cars like the Prius and Camry, giving hybrid options to Corolla drivers, or slapping a TRD badge on an Avalon to make it sportier, the automaker is always bolstering and improving its lineup.

Toyota is the second most popular automaker in Canada by sales volume, just behind Ford, and the Corolla and RAV4 are often two of the top 10 best selling cars in Canada.
