Land Rover is retracing its roots to mark the silver anniversary of a historic drive along the Continental Divide in Colorado. In 1989, Land Rover set out on the Great Divide Expedition for a press event to introduce the then new 1990 Range Rover. Spanning more than 1,800 km from Wyoming to New Mexico along twisty 4x4 trails and dangerous dirt roads, the event raised Range Rover’s profile and made it an icon of off-roading.
Fast forward 25 years and Land Rover has repeated the journey. But this time, it’s in stock 2014 Range Rover Supercharged vehicles. The nine-day adventure along portions of the original Great Divide, from Denver to Telluride, reaffirmed Range Rover as a true off-roading machine.
