The original Mini was built from 1959 to 2000, and over those 41 years 5.4 million of the little boxes with a wheel at each corner were produced, making it the most successful British car of all time. Then, in 2001, under the stewardship of BMW, the Mini’s next chapter began.
Now into its third generation, sales tally for the “new” Mini is over 3 million. This diminutive cutie has essentially seen nothing but love for upwards of 55 years, so it’s hard to imagine it was conceived out of an act of war.
