Jaguar F-Type gets SVR treatment

What's better than a 340 hp Jaguar F-Type? A 574 hp Jaguar F-Type. That's what Jaguar has come up with by introducing the SVR variant of their two-seater, developed by their Special Vehicle Operations division.

The sports coupe and convertible will debut in Geneva as the first Jaguar to receive the SVR treatment, following in the footsteps of a Land Rover that launched the monstrous supercharged Range Rover Sport SVR last year. According to UK's Auto Express, a brochure of the new variant of the F-Type was leaked, explaining the sudden hype. It reveals that the F-Type SVR will be equipped with  a 5.0L V8, the same powertrain as the limited edition Jaguar Project 7, also an F-Type variant. The engine will be mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and with the all-wheel drive, a set up similar to the F-Type R AWD. That should allow the car to reach a top speed of 320 km/h.

The package will be available both on the coupe and the convertible versions of the model and go on sale sometime in the summer, after an official unveil at the Geneva auto show.
