Volvo Unveils All-New 2017 V90 Wagon

Volvo unveiled first details and photos of their all-new 2017 V90 wagon today, making it the third vehicle in their 90 series line (alongside the XC90 SUV and S90 sedan). This is a premium wagon, and it will combine the luxury and safety features of the S90 with a large, usable cargo area.

Volvo released very little information on the V90 at this time, but if it follows suit with what is expected in the S90 (unveiled last month), you should see a base model with Volvo's T5 2.0L four-cylinder producing in the area of 240 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Likely steps up would be the turbocharged and supercharged 2.0L T6 four producing 315 hp and 295 lb-ft, and possibly Volvo's T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain making around 410 hp. Expect all-wheel drive to be available in the range.

The V90 will also have as standard Volvo's semi-autonomous Pilot Assist, which includes large animal detection and run-off road mitigation. The first will help you spot a moose in the dark, and the second helps cushion the impact if you are forced to leave the road to avoid. Apple CarPlay plus Android Auto will be available as well.

Expect the V90 to arrive at Canadian dealers in the first quarter of 2017.
