Acura CDX Leaked Ahead of Beijing Motor Show

The premium sub-compact crossover market is on fire right now, with the Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q3, BMW X1 and more joining the segment-pioneering Buick Encore. Leaked photos in advance of the Beijing Motor Show point to Acura sticking their beak into the segment as well. The CDX appears to be based on the HR-V, much like the Civic-based CSX and EL models that preceded the ILX.

The CDX wears the new Acura grille, which features significantly less chrome than the last few generations from the brand, and the headlights appear to house LED lamps. Most of the information about the CDX is rumour at this point, but expect the Civic's 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder and the eight-speed dual clutch from the ILX and TLX, as well as a choice of front- and all-wheel drive.

At this time, the CDX is not confirmed for North America – though it could be a potential hit here, Car and Driver reports that a company representative stated they are “looking at new markets, but right now it’s just a China-specific model.”
