While Canada was enjoying the Victoria Day holiday Monday, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and airbag manufacturer Takata Corp. were busy announcing the latest round of airbag inflator recalls.

This batch affects Toyota vehicles sold between model years 2006 and 2011; Automotive News is reporting a total of 1.6 million U.S. market vehicles including the Corolla, Matrix, 4Runner, Sienna, the Scion xB and a trio of Lexus models (ES, GX and IS).

4Runner, Sienna, xB and the Lexus models are all new to the list of affected Toyotas; you'll find our complete list of affected makes and models here.

We'll update this when Transport Canada issues its recall notice.
