Xbox and Turn 10 Announce Forza Racing Championship

Last month we showed you Gran Turismo Sport, Playstation and Polyphony Digital's newest-generation driving simulator. The developers announced that the racing in the game was so realistic that they were looking at getting FIA certification for the top-tier series.

Well, the teams at Microsoft and Turn 10 that bring you Forza Motorsport haven't taken the news lying down. The Forza Motorsports team has just announced that later this summer they will bring the Forza Racing Championship to Xbox One and Forza Motorsports 6.

The Forza Racing Championship will grant Gamerscore glory, of course – but real-world prizes will also be up for grabs. The team at Forza is quick to note that the series is designed to be competitive for all; even brand-new players will be able to win, something that is all too uncommon in multiplayer games this days.

As an added bonus, Turn 10 has some things in store to celebrate the 84th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 18th and 19th. Goodies include a digital download for #66 Ford GT Le Mans racer, in Ford Chip Ganassi Racing livery, for use in Forza Motorsport 6. There is also a brand new Le Mans theme rivals event. So grab your controller, head to La Circuit de la Sarthe and get ready for the Forza Racing Championship.

Forza Motorsport 6 is available on Xbox One. Watch the Forza Racing Championship announcement trailer below.
