Chrysler Recalls Pacifica Minivan for Broken Seatbelt Clips

Chrysler has recalled its brand-new Pacifica minivan to fix overhead seatbelt stowage clips that could break.

The clips in question are the ones you see in minivan and SUV headliners that keep the middle seatbelt for the second and third rows of seating out the way when not in use. This seems like a strange reason to recall a vehicle, but in this case, the broken clip can trap the seatbelt and prevent it from being used, leaving two of your eight passengers without restraints.

Chrysler is instructing its dealers to replace the second- and third-row seatbelt bezels in 74 affected vans, all sold as 2017 models, with a new part made of tougher stuff.
