Nissan Unveils Single Cab Titans

Nissan's Titan crew cabs are happy to announce that the family is getting a little bigger. Or in this case, a little smaller. Single-cab models are joining the 2017 Nissan Titan and Titan XD lineup.

The new single-cab, long-bed pickups are intended to be primarily "an affordable and rugged entry-point in the commercial fleet/work truck market" and as such, they will only be available in base S and mid-level SV trim, with 4x4 and 4x2 options available. A king-cab model is set to follow next year.

The new cab is lighter than the crew cab, so it gets higher payload and tow ratings by about 145 kg. The heavy-duty Titan XD is available with a 310 hp, 5.0L Cummins V8 diesel or a 390 hp 5.6L V8, and the regular Titan gets the 5.6L V8 for now, and a V6 to follow. Gas trucks get a seven-speed auto and diesel models get six-speeds.

Pricing will follow later in the year, as the trucks near their on-sale date.
