Fiat Chrysler Recalls Nearly 140,000 Cars for a Wiring Fault

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling 142,959 cars and CUVs due to an issue with the wiring for the front impact sensors. The issue can cause the airbags and seatbelt pretensioners to fail to deploy in certain types of crashes. If they safety devices failed to deploy, it could increase the risk of injury to the occupant.

Customers with the vehicles affected by the recall will be notified by FCA when they can have their vehicle repaired, but at this time the company has not specified what the repair is, or when it will be ready.

The vehicles involved include 2010 Chrysler Sebring, 2011-2014 Chrysler 200, 2010-2014 Dodge Avenger, 2010-2012 Dodge Caliber, and 2010-2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot models.
