Non-Compliant Headlights Force Lincoln Recall

Ford's upscale Lincoln brand has recalled a handful of its Continental flagship sedan to replace headlight housings that don't meet Canadian safety standards.

In 49 cars, sold as 2017 models, optional HID headlights may have been built with a lens that fails to meet both light source markings and turn signal rules under the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS). Transport Canada says a missing turn signal lens reduces the signal's visibility to other drivers and pedestrians, and could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford is instructing its dealers to inspect and replace headlight housings as necessary.
