Subaru Canada has just released pricing for the all-new 2017 Subaru Impreza sedan and hatch. Introduced earlier this year at the New York auto show, the styling is similar, but underneath is an all-new car.
The entry trim is the Impreza convenience, available in sedan and hatch trims, both having the choice of a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission that also has a seven ratio manual mode function. The only engine in the lineup is a thoroughly revised version of Subaru's 2.0L boxer four-cylinder that makes 152. All trims come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
Next is Touring trim, which gets both body styles and both transmissions. It adds a 6.3-inch multi-function display for driver information. Impreza Sport again has sedan and hatch body styles and a CVT and manual transmission available. Sport gets LED adaptive cornering headlights, blind spot detection, backup alerts, and rear cross-traffic alerts. A technology package can be added to CVT-equipped Sport models and includes Subaru's EyeSight active safety suite. That adds automatic high beams, reverse emergency braking, and lane keeping.
Top trim is Impreza Sport-tech. It's a new trim for this year, and CVT only, but has sport suspension tuning, 18-inch alloys, and torque vectoring that applies power to improve response and control. It also gets a unique leather interior along with a Harman Kardon stereo with 8.0-inch screen and navigation, and the exterior has black grille, mirrors, and the hatchback gets glossy black trim on the tailgate. The technology package is optional on Sport-tech.
