Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has recalled about 3,600 Jeep and Dodge models in Canada to fix flaws that could lead to fuel leaks and windshield wiper failures.
In more than 2,500 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango models with the 3.6L V6 engine, a fuel delivery line in the engine compartment "may be damaged," though Transport Canada doesn't say how this damage may have occurred. Cars with the damaged part are more likely to develop a fuel leak, and the bad part's underhood location presents the very real possibility of a fire. FCA is asking its dealers to inspect the vehicles covered by the recall and replace the fuel rail assembly and lower intake manifold in affected vehicles.
FCA's second recall applies to the Dart compact sedan. Here, an improperly crimped electronic component in the windshield washer pump could cause the failure of the windshield wiper circuit in one of the car's main control modules, and that would cause the wipers to stop working. Dealers are being asked to inspect and replace the defective washer pumps.
