The Grand Tour: Now Streaming in Canada

The Grand Tour, the new show from the old Top Gear presenters is the most illegally downloaded show in History. According to the UK's Daily Mail, the first episode was illegally downloaded nearly eight million times. Part of the problem was making the eagerly anticipated show available in only a handful of countries. But there's good news for Canadians who are looking to watch Clarkson, Hammond and May's The Grand Tour legally. Now you can.

Last month, Jeremy Clarkson announced that Amazon Prime Video would be coming to Canada (along with 200 or so other countries), but there was no date given and no official announcement from Amazon. Today, Amazon's Netflix-like streaming video service Amazon Prime Video has launched in Canada. You can now watch Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May in the first four episodes of The Grand Tour, with the rest of the season releasing weekly on Fridays. The series starts out rocky but improves quickly and maintains the chemistry of the hosts and the cinematography and antics you expect from the trio.

Amazon Prime Video also offers a number of Amazon Original series. If you're looking for other automotive content, the service also streams the first five of the Fast and the Furious series, but little else. The library isn't very large, so don't expect a Netflix-like selection.

Amazon Prime does come with free two-day shipping on millions of items (same day if you are in Toronto or Vancouver) in Canada, and unlimited photo storage, but does not come with the free music or books that accompany Prime in the US. It is cheaper than the US service, though, at $79 per year.
