The Canadian Automobile Association has released the results of its latest member survey to find the most poorly-maintained roads in Ontario, and the list includes some familiar names.
Topping this year's Worst Roads compilation is Burlington Street East, which runs past the industrial port lands of Hamilton, Ontario. CAA says this road has the dubious honour of having been in the top 10 every year since 2009, but it's time to break out the bubbly, because this is its first time in the number one spot.
Next up is Dufferin Street in Toronto, which runs north from the shore of Lake Ontario on the west side of the city's downtown core.
Positions three and four are occupied by Lorne Street and Maley Drive in Sudbury, located a 400-km drive north of Toronto.
Fifth spot takes us back to southern Ontario and Queenston Street, in the city of St. Catharines, a short drive from Niagara Falls.
Ontario's sixth-worst road is Algonquin Boulevard West, in the northern Ontario town of Timmins, hometown of country music star Shania Twain.
It's off to the nation's capital of Ottawa to take a spin down seventh-place Hunt Club Road, a busy arterial that connects the city's southern suburbs with the airport.
Ottawa also appears in eighth spot, where Carling Avenue finds itself in a tie with Barrie's Duckworth Street.
Timmins' Algonquin Boulevard appears again in ninth spot, but this time it's the western end, which is apparently considered distinct from the eastern portion. It ties with Toronto's Yonge Street.
And finally, last year's number one worst road, County Road 49 in picturesque Prince Edward County, returns to the list in 10th position, suggesting that if this rural highway isn't better than it was last year, it's at least less bad.
