Cadillac is giving their full-size XTS sedan a mild refresh for 2018. The update sees a new look front and rear, but also has the newest version of Cadillac's infotainment system. The XTS also receives some chassis revisions that make it quieter inside, and interior comfort has been improved.
The first changes you'll see are the revised front and rear fascias. The new grille looks much more elegant, in keeping with its stablemate, the 2018 Cadillac CT6. The new headlights, with side elements running down the nose, are closer to those of the CT6 as well.
At the rear, the new taillights wrap under the corners of the trunk lid for a smooth appearance. The trunk's chrome trim is gone, as are the laurel wreaths. The rear license plate mount moves from the trunk to the bumper, and the trunk lid gets more creases and curves. It's a much-improved look compared to last year. The changes cut 27 mm off the car, taking it down to 5,103 mm long.
Inside, the XTS gets Cadillac's newest CUE infotainment system. The system debuted on the 2017 Cadillac CTS, and the company says it has a more intuitive interface. It can also be upgraded over time to fit "a customer’s evolving connectivity needs."
The XTS gets new seats that have new foam, a new frame, and a revised heat pad to improve comfort. Cadillac has added more sound insulators to reduce cabin noise.
To help further reduce noise, and improve the ride, new 19 and 20-inch tires have been specified. They promise improved ride comfort and a more quiet cabin.
The revised XTS arrives later this year.
