Hyundai Adds Smartphone Connectivity to Some 2015 and 2016 Models

Hyundai adding more connectivity to older cars. Owners of 11 2015 and 2016 model year vehicles can now add Apple CarPlay and Android auto connectivity software.

The update doesn't even require a trip to the dealer. If you own one of the Elantra, Ioniq, Sonata, Tucson, Santa Fe, or Genesis models on the list, you can download the software from Hyundai and install it yourself.

The software adds Apple or Google Maps support, as well as music and traffic apps and support for voice control of calls and text messaging.

The upgrade doesn't apply to every trim of the models listed. Check the site, or contact your Hyundai dealer to see if your vehicle is compatible, but here is the list from Hyundai of their cars and crossovers that support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
