Lego Launches 1968 Mustang for your Desk

The latest kit from Lego is a brick Bullitt for your desk. It's a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback racer.

The Lego 1968 Mustang kit comes with everything you need to build the car, but it also has a Ford-branded trackside timing board and stickers to customize the car. The Minifig driver has a big wrench and is wearing a vintage-look racing suit.

Unlike some of Lego's latest car kits that have so much detail that they have working transmissions, this Mustang is a simple kit. While the Lego Porsche 911 GT3 has more than 2,000 pieces, the 183 pieces of this kit means that it is more accessible to build, but also to buy. MSRP when it goes on sale March first is US $14.99.

Ford and Lego don't call this a Bullitt, but it's a 1968 Fastback in dark green. Ignore the gold stripes and we all know what car this is supposed to be. That 9.45-second quarter mile time on the board seems a little optimistic, though.

Lego's Speed Champions Ford collection also includes both classic and modern Ford GT racers, the F-150 Raptor, a Fiesta WRC rally car, and the 2015 Mustang.
