Things to See and Do at the Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show

The Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show is currently underway at the International Centre, 6900 Airport Road Mississauga, and if you're anything like me, it's a very dangerous place to be.

Each day from March 1 to March 4, Torontonians have a smorgasbord of outdoor equipment and RVs, from the classic cozy trailer to luxurious behemoths fit to survive a zombie apocalypse. Here are some of the things you can see and do at the 2018 show.

Things to See

Toy Haulers

The most tempting section of the show floor for me involves toy haulers. With a place for my race bike, tools, and to bed down for the night, these rigs vary in size from "weekend warrior" to "factory pro".

Class C, Class B, and Class A Campers

From a Sprinter-based Class C through a Ford custom-fit Class B and all the way to a bus-sized Class A, if you want a self-propelled motorhome than the show has you covered.

Cottages Nicer Than My House

If my house looked as nice as some of these cottages, I'd never leave there. The show has a range of semi-permanent and permanent cottages as well as prospectuses on some of Ontario's most sort-after cottage locations.

Massive Trailers

Some of these trailers are so big it's hard to believe you can pull them with most heavy-duty trucks. Heck, some of these trailers are bigger than my apartment. How much are these again?

Wee Little Trailers

And some of these trailers are itty bitty, adorable little things. Built for a good time, these are the sorts of campers that satisfy the true outdoors person. Not me though. I like heating. Canada is cold, yo.

Things to Do

Get in Trouble From Your Spouse

"Hey!" said the friendly fellow from one booth... "You could get into this one for around $17,000"... The show is a good time to grab some deals, with plenty of competition fighting for interest in a relatively small space.
Dangerous place, this.

Make Up With Your Spouse

Whether you're single, married, a small family, or a large, there's an RV for you. These rigs have a romantic air about them.

Learn About the Lifestyle, Buying Camping Gear

Seriously, if you're going camping, you'll need some gear. The Show has a lot of that around too. Fishing equipment, cooking equipment, multitools and more.

There are also seminars, games and plenty of information about the RV lifestyle with displays from GoRVing and others.

Learn How to Empty Your Toilet Tank

We decided not to run a picture on this one, but if you're looking for the run down on how to keep your RV's plumbing in livable condition, that's just one of the seminars running throughout the weekend.

Win Contests

What's a show without contests? There are a few running, including one in which you can win 12 months of RV payments – up to $5,000. Others involve taking selfies with bears....

The Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show runs this weekend, 10 am–7 pm Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3; then 10 am–5 pm Sunday, March 4.
