Jaguar has upped the F's Pace. The F-Pace crossover gets a new SVR trim that packs a supercharged V8 under the bonnet and adds larger brakes, more traction, and a louder exhaust.
The supercharged 5.0L V8 puts out a whopping 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. That's up 44 percent over the supercharged V6 in the fastest current car. It lets the F-Pace SVR hit 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
To help that engine breathe, there is a new bumper with larger air intakes. The side fender vents are functional, letting pressure out of the wheel wells to reduce lift, improve stability, and improve cooling.
The rear bumper gets redesigned to give the F-Pace a more aggressive look, and to show off the quad tailpipes of the variable active exhaust. That exhaust trims 6.6 kg, and if it sounds anything like the same engine in the F-Type it'll let you enjoy the sonorous growl of the F-Pace from the next town over.
The SVR uses an eight-speed automatic that can be controlled by aluminum paddles or by a pistol-grip shifter in the center console. All-wheel drive is standard and has had the electronics tinkered with to take advantage of the new differential. This is the first vehicle to use Jag's new electronic active differential that optimises power delivery between the rear tires.
Stopping those tires are larger 395 mm front and 396 mm rear two-piece brake discs, inside 21-inch or optional 22-inch wheels. The 22's are 2.4 kg lighter up front and 1.7 kg lighter in the rear. The suspension has been stiffened, and new anti-roll bars fitted that reduce roll and improve handling.
Inside, the F-Pace offers a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 10.0-inch touchscreen with Touch Pro infotainment. four new interior colours showcase the more heavily bolstered front seats with lozenge quilting.
The F-Pace SVR is set to arrive this summer.
