Pininfarina PF0 Hypercar Predicts Sub 2-Second 0-100 km/h

Italian design house Pininfarina says its first production electric vehicle, the PF0 hypercar, will be capable of a 0-100 km/h sprint of less than two seconds when the car goes on sale in 2020.

That's one of a handful of technical details the company has revealed ahead of a private reveal of the car next week at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, according to the UK's Autocar.

Pininfarina says the EV will boast sufficient power to reach a top speed of more than 300 km/h, but will also be capable of as much as 500 km of driving range.

Just 150 examples of the car will be built, each with something like 1,500 hp from an EV drivetrain derived from one developed with the help of Croatia's Rimac, itself an electric exotic car specialist.

After the PF0 launches, Pininfarina will then turn its attention to producing a trio of electric crossovers to rival the Lamborghini Urus and the Porsche Cayenne and Macan.

While the company is well known for its collaborations with other automakers, the PF0 will be the first to be branded solely as a Pininfarina.
