The all-new Chevrolet Silverado pickup is starting to roll out to dealers. That means pricing to go along with it. And the completely redesigned pickup actually starts at a lower price than the outgoing model. The MSRP is $295 less for the base double cab WT trim and $1,000 less for a 4x4 LT Crew Cab. Though not all trims get that good news. The top High Country trim gets an increase of $795.
The new trucks offer more capability, more cargo space, and some new powertrain options. Like the 310 hp, 348 lb-ft 2.7L turbo four and the new available eight-speed automatic behind the 5.3L V8. That $1,000 cheaper LT actually comes with that turbo four instead of the 4.3L V6 it would have had last year. Though that V6 is still available.
Some more payload and tow ratings have come out with the new pricing. All crew cab trucks now offer 154 kg more payload than the old truck, though the exact amount depends on trim. Max towing with the 5.3L V8 is up 181 kg to 5,262 (11,600 lb), V6 towing is up the same amount to 3,629 kg (8,000 lb), and a Max Towing pack 6.2L V8 truck is up 227 kg to 5,534 (12,200 lb).
Right now, Chevrolet is only revealing double cab and crew cab pricing, in standard and short bed lengths. We expect more options, including the regular cab and long bed, to show up later on as the new truck ramps up production.
