Hyundai Prices 2019 Kona EV

Hyundai's new Kona electric crossover has started to roll into dealerships, which means that we now have a price to go with it. The 415 km range compact will start from just under $46,000.

The Kona EV offers the longest all-electric range of any compact crossover in Canada. Though that's because it's the only EV compact crossover, it's still an impressive number. It beats all EVs sold in Canada that aren't from Tesla in range, including its direct rival the Chevrolet Bolt, and the pricier Jaguar i-Pace.

The 64 kWh battery powers an electric motor that makes 201 hp and 291 lb-ft of torque. Hyundai said it can take an 80 percent charge in as little as 55 minutes on a LevelĀ 3 charger.

It will be offered in two trim levels, Preferred and Ultimate. The $45,599 Preferred trim will arrive later in the year and comes with Hyundai's SmartSense active safety suite. That means lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, and driver attention warning. The Preferred trim gets a 7.0-inch screen vs. 8.0-inches with navigation on Ultimate. Both have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The Ultimate trim starts at $51,999 and adds leather as well as ventilation and power adjustment to the front seats. They're heated in both trims. On top of that, the Ultimate gets wireless charging, Infinity audio, a power sunroof, and automatic high beams.

The 2019 Hyundai Kona EV is available at dealers now.
