Jaguar's waving a flag for the F-Type coupe in 2020. There's a new Checkered Flag Limited Edition coming. The standard F-Type gets some changes too. Like the smartphone pack with more connectivity standard. With that comes a price hike as well, up $1,000 on the base trim cars.
And it looks like 2019 marked the end of the manual transmission option, gone for 2020.
The Checkered Flag Limited Edition was designed to celebrate the brand's history of sports cars. It adds some styling changes to stand apart from other trims. Starting with the R-Dynamic Coupe or Convertible, it adds special Checkered Flag badges on the outside as well as a black contrast roof colour. That badging extends inside as well, with branding on the headrests and the door sills. Also on the inside, the Checkered Flag cars get a Windsor leather interior with embossed Performance seats, ebony suede headliner, and a Checkered Flag steering wheel with a red centering stripe. The 20-inch gloss black alloys are unique to the special edition, as is dark brushed aluminum trim for the center console. Since it builds on the R-Dynamic trim, it gets that car's 3.0L supercharged V6 and 380 hp.
If you're interested in the standard F-Type, that model gets Jaguar's Smartphone Pack standard for 2020. That includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Jaguar is also adding the front parking aid to the list of standard equipment.
The manual transmission option is missing from the pricing and "Build Yours" on Jaguar Canada's website, so it's most likely gone, though we're waiting for confirmation from JLR Canada. There are still five engine choices ranging from the base 2.0L turbo four's 296 hp to the 575 hp 5.0L supercharged V8 of the F-Type SVR.
