Ram Waves Its Wand Over 1500 Classic Warlock

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles today unveiled the Ram 1500 Classic Warlock, a special edition truck conceived to work sales magic for the brand's previous-generation pickup.

Ram says the Warlock is a high-value package that bundles "desirable" options and equipment and recalls the Dodge Warlock pickups of the late 1970s.

Presented at the Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) in Toronto, the Ram 1500 Classic Warlock's cosmetic tweaks are a black grille, fender flares, and badges; 20-inch black wheels; powder-coated bumpers; dark headlight surrounds; and trim-specific decals on the hood and bed sides.

Functional features include a 2.5 cm suspension lift, heavy-duty shocks, and tow hooks. There are lighting upgrades, too, in LED fog lights and taillights.

The Warlock's cabin comes fitted with grey cloth seating, leather-trimmed steering wheel, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, overhead console, and a 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster display. Outside, there's rear park assist, LED bed lighting and power folding mirrors.

Heated front seats (bucket or bench) are an option, as is an 8.4-inch infotainment screen with navigation. Other extras include black side steps and a spray-in bedliner.

Ram is offering the Warlock as a Quad Cab with a 6'4" box or a Crew Cab with a 5'7" box. Four-wheel drive is standard in both and the Warlock is available in any of the Ram 1500 Classic's production paint colours.

Pricing starts at $51,715 with a 3.6L V6 engine, or $53,615 with a 5.7L V8, both of which come with an eight-speed transmission. The Ram 1500 Classic Warlock will arrive in Canadian showrooms in March 2019.
