2019 Fiat 500X Receives Urbana Edition

If you liked the Fiat 500X subcompact CUV for its cool quirkiness but found that it needed to be even quirkier, the 2019 version has you covered.

New for 2019 is the “Urbana Edition” trim. For $995 over the cost of a $32,995 500X Trekking model, it provides black-painted mirror caps, door handles, taillamp surrounds, liftgate trim and sills as well as matching 18” wheels. Copper 500X logos and wheel center caps provide some unique contrast.

Inside, there’s a special chevron pattern on the seats, as well as some black texturing on the instrument panel and center console.

Along with its Jeep Renegade cousin, the 500X now gets a 1.3L turbo inline-4 good for 177 hp and 210 lb-ft, up 17 and 26, respectively, on last year’s model. It’s standard fare on the 500X, and also provides automatic engine start/stop for greater fuel efficiency. Power is sent to all four wheels as AWD is standard, all through a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

More than just a new engine, the base 2019 500X also gets some stylistic tweaks in the form of new front and rear fascias, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps and optional full-LED headlamps, as well as three new wheel options and three new exterior paint colour choices.

For tech fans, the Uconnect 4 infotainment with 7” display and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support comes standard, while available adaptive cruise and front park assist join 70 new safety features.

Pricing for the 2019 Fiat 500X starts at $31,995, and the Urbana Edition is will be available in dealers soon.
