Toyota Prices 2020 Avalon at $42,690

Toyota has announced the 2020 Avalon sedan is on sale now for a starting price of $42,690, down $100 compared to last year's car.

That price decrease comes with some minor changes for the entry-level XSE trim. For example, it trades the 2019 model's 14-speaker sound system for an eight-speaker stereo.

The up-level Limited trim sees its price go up by $660 but gains no new features.

Both Avalon trims use a 3.5L V6 engine making 301 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

All versions of Toyota's sedan flagship come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense suite of automatic high beams, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and radar cruise control. Also included is blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

Limited trim adds a rear cross-traffic braking system and bird's-eye-view monitor, a heated steering wheel with power tilt-and-telescopic adjustment, 10-inch head-up display, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, the aforementioned 14-speaker stereo and Entune 3.0 premium audio with destination assist and embedded traffic and weather data.

The XSE trim's distinguishing features are 19-inch wheels (Limited uses 18s), a sport-tuned suspension, rear spoiler, sport grille, and an engine sound generator Toyota says is meant to create a more engaging driving experience.
