North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year Announces 2020 Semifinalists

Jurors have cast their first ballots in the North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) awards, narrowing a field of 46 vehicles down to 29: 12 cars, 12 utilities and five trucks.

To be eligible for consideration by NACTOY's 50 judges (autoTRADER.ca editor-in-chief Jodi Lai among them), a vehicle has to be either all-new or substantially updated for the 2020 model year. Finalists will be revealed this fall at the LA auto show, and NACTOY will crown the winners (one car, one utility, and one truck) in January at the Cobo Center in Detroit.

The winners in the 2019 NACTOY contest were the Genesis G70 (car of the year), Hyundai Kona (utility of the year) and Ram 1500 (truck of the year).
