Toyota has announced its all-new Corolla Cross subcompact crossover will be priced at $24,890 when it goes on sale across Canada later this month.
That entry price applies to the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross’ base L trim level, which is equipped with a 7.0-inch infotainment display, six-speaker stereo, Apple and Android smartphone connectivity, heated front seats, 17-inch steel wheels, heated side mirrors, and LED headlights and taillights. This pricing doesn't include the non-negotiable destination fees.
One step up is the LE model ($27,090), which gets a larger touchscreen, alloy wheels, heated steering wheel, passive keyless entry, blind spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Corolla Cross L and LE are standard with front-wheel drive and can be optioned with all-wheel drive (AWD) for an extra $1,400.
The LE Premium trim comes standard with AWD for $30,590, along with a sunroof, wireless smartphone charging, roof rails, satellite radio, and Toyota’s suite of connected services.
At the top of the Corolla Cross range is the XLE trim ($33,990, which also includes AWD), which gains a JBL stereo, digital gauge display, ambient interior lighting, power driver’s seat, softex upholstery, dual-zone A/C, auto-dimming mirror, 18-inch wheels, LED fog lights, a power tailgate, and upgraded LED headlights and taillights.
Also standard is the Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver assists, comprising lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane tracing assist, and radar cruise control.
The Corolla Cross is Toyota’s second entry in the fast-growing subcompact utility class, slotting in pricewise just above the brand’s existing C-HR model. Power is from a 2.0L four-cylinder engine shared with the Corolla sedan and hatchback and making 169 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. All Corolla Cross variants use a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
Toyota’s fuel consumption estimates for the new Corolla Cross are 7.6/7.0 L/100 km (city/highway) with front-wheel drive, and 8.1/7.4 with AWD.
