2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe PHEV Pricing Announced

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is getting ready to hit dealers this spring. Ahead of that, the off-road automaker is ready with pricing, fuel economy, and range numbers for the electrified off-roader that will start from just under $75,000 (before destination fees).

The 4xe powertrain combines a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine and two electric motors, allowing it to deliver 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. That's more power and torque than the optional 5.7L V8 and well above the figures of the standard 3.6L V6. Jeep says that the electric driveline will allow for an EV-only range of up to 40 km, and an estimated fuel economy of 4.1 Le/100 km.

To go along with the 4xe name, all of the PHEV models will come with Jeep's Quadra Trac II 4x4 system and feature a low-range transfer case and 47.4:1 crawl ratio in 4Lo. Towing tops out at 6,000 lbs, just shy of the 6,200-lb capability of the 3.6L V6 engine version.

The 4xe package will be offered on the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee in base, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve. The base 4xe will come equipped with leather seating and Jeep's otherwise optional 10.25-inch passenger-side display screen as well as navigation, dual-pane sunroof, and Alpine audio system. It will also have Jeep's driver assistance suite including full-speed collision warning with braking, rear cross traffic detection, and radar cruise control. Trailhawk models will have a semi-active air suspension, sway bar disconnect, and unique all-terrain tires. Higher trim levels are equipped like their gas counterparts.
