Mercedes-Benz Reveals Interior for New EQS SUV

Next up in the growing lineup of electric vehicles from Mercedes-Benz is the EQS SUV. While the full unveiling is a month away, Mercedes-Benz has given us a look inside today to see more of what the big EV SUV will offer.

Front and centre is Mercedes-Benz's Hyperscreen. The optional curved screen measures 56 inches and sweeps almost the entire dashboard. Combining multiple screens in one frame, the Hyperscreen was first seen in the EQS sedan and includes a large OLED screen for the instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch OLED display for the front passenger's use. Like the EQS sedan, the system has vents that look like they're floating inside the screens.

Mercedes-Benz has been innovative with its interior materials, combining modern and old. Like the magnolia wood trim, which has Mercedes-Benz stars laser cut into the wood. Stainless steel is pressed into the holes from the rear of the panel, turning the centre console cover into something special.

The EQS electric vehicle will offer SUV goodies including rear-seat entertainment and loads of storage compartments. It will also come with a third row of seats that Mercedes says is "even more comfortable than in the GLE," thanks to an improved seating position. Dolby Atmos audio enhancement will be included, letting the occupants move even individual instruments and voices around the listening area to create an immersive experience.

Lastly, the EQS SUV will even get its own scent. A new fragrance called "No. 6 Mood Mimosa" has been created for the Energizing Air Control Plus cabin cleaning system. Mercedes describes it as "an earthy fragrance tinged with subtly sensual hints."

Mercedes-Benz plans the full reveal of the EQS SUV April 19.
