Nissan has given the Altima a refresh for 2023. For the new model year, the sedan will get a new front fascia, a larger infotainment screen, navigation enhancements, and other tech upgrades. Nissan is also making more of its previously-optional driver-assist features standard.
The 2023 Nissan Altima's new nose updates the brand's V-Motion grille and includes the brand's new logo. The photos exclusively show the sporty SR trim with its black trim and grille insert, but other trim grades get a similar nose with a shiny finish and a different grille insert. The lights are updated and now include standard LED headlights and the taillights have also been freshened.
Cosmetic changes aren't limited to the exterior. Nissan has also upgraded the cabin with new finishes for the instrument panel as well as a dual-stitch fabric on the SR trim. The company says the changes offer "a near-luxury feel."
Sitting in the more refined dash is a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, at least on SR Premium and Platinum. It's the same screen Nissan puts in the giant Armada SUV, and it replaces an 8.0-inch unit. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come with the new screen (along with wireless charging), and it will offer door-to-door navigation, a new app that gives you directions from your driveway to your destination, with walking directions from your parking spot to your final stop.
Nissan's Safety Shield 360 driver assistance suite becomes standard on all Altima grades. It includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, lane departure warnings, blind spot alerts, and rear cross traffic assist. ProPilot Assist, Nissan's adaptive cruise and lane centring system is standard on SR and higher.
The powertrain is unchanged, with a 182-hp 2.5L four-cylinder backed by a CVT and all-wheel drive the only available unit. The 2023 Nissan Altima goes on sale in the fall.
