Mercedes-Benz will be sending its new EQE electric sedan to Canada in three forms, starting with the EQE 350 4Matic and EQE 500 4Matic arriving next month. The AMG variant will arrive in the summer offering nearly 700 hp from its electric powertrain.
Every 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE gets all-wheel drive, accomplished with a motor in the front and one in the rear. The basic 350-badged model gets 288 hp and a massive 564 lb-ft of torque, big figures when compared with the gas-powered E 350 sedan's 255 and 273.
The EQE will be more expensive than its gas siblings, with the gas E-Class starting at $66,700 and the 2023 EQE 350 at $85,600 in Canada. The basic model comes equipped with a 12.3-inch digital dash and 12.8-inch centre screen and will be offered in Exclusive and Pinnacle trim levels.
In the EQE 500, more powerful electric motors offer 402 hp and 633 lb-ft of torque. It has the same-size screens as the 350 as standard but will offer the large single-panel Hyperscreen as an option. The EQE 500 will offer the same two trim levels as its sibling.
Sitting at the top of the lineup is the Mercedes-AMG EQE, with 677 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque when fitted with the AMG Dynamic Plus package. The standard AMG gets 617 hp and 701 lb-ft. Included with AMG models are new sports seats with special graphics and synthetic leather covers.
All versions of the EQE sedan come with a 90.6-kWh lithium-ion battery, while the AMG model has its management software tuned by the performance side of the company. The pack can charge at up to 170 kW on the right charger.
Official figures for the AMG EQE say drivers can expect 362 km on a full charge. Mercedes-Benz Canada let us know that both the EQE 350 and EQE 500 have an estimated 418 km of range.
