Chevrolet is refreshing the Trailblazer for 2024. What will soon be Chevy's smallest new vehicle gets a revised grille and headlights, new wheels, and upgraded in-cabin tech and convenience items.
With the Chevrolet Spark being discontinued soon and the Trax growing much larger this year, the Trailblazer is suddenly the smallest vehicle in the brand's lineup.
The new nose gets ultra-slim running lights up top with changes to the headlights that sit below them. Combine that with a new grille, and the 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer looks quite angry or like it's squinting. The rear lights are also updated, with a much more intricate design than the previous model.
There will be a couple of new colours; Chevrolet offers a wide selection of bright hues for its smaller vehicles. RS models get 19-inch alloy wheels, which are massive for such a small vehicle.
Inside, the 2024 Trailblazer gets GM's latest infotainment system. This new system has a larger 11-inch screen. It also gets Google Maps and other available Google apps. For users of both types of phones, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard.
Just like last year, Chevrolet Safety Assist is standard. This comes with follow distance indicator, forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, and a few other goodies. New for 2024, cruise control is standard on all models (it wasn't offered on the LS model before). Push-button start and a high-definition rear camera are also now standard. Adaptive cruise control remains on the options list.
The powertrains are not changed. The LS and LT models get a 1.2L turbo three-cylinder engine making 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque, paired with front-wheel drive (FWD) and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The LT offers a 1.3L turbo three-cylinder with 155 hp and 174 lb-ft, still with FWD and the CVT. All-wheel drive is offered on all grades, and that system includes the 1.3L engine but a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Chevrolet didn't announce pricing but expect an announcement later this year. The 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer arrives at dealers in late 2023.
