The 2024 Subaru Impreza has been completely reworked with a new chassis, quieter cabin, and more standard equipment. Now we know how much those changes will cost, with Subaru revealing pricing for the popular AWD compact.
Subaru has dropped the manual transmission from the lineup for the 2024 Impreza. If you want an AWD Subaru with a stick, you must head to the high-performance WRX instead. The car company has also dropped the sedan body style (once again, try the WRX instead).
The base price for a 2024 Subaru Impreza Convenience is $26,795. That's $3,500 more than last year, but the base model last year was a five-speed manual with no driver assistance features. Compare the two CVT models, and the difference is just $1,700. It's not an insignificant change, especially for entry-level buyers, but compare that with similar models from other automakers over their last redesign (as well as prices at the grocery store), and the change is impressively small.
For that price plus freight, you get a 152-hp 2.0L boxer four-cylinder engine with torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. You'll also get twin 7.0-inch touchscreens, one for the infotainment and the other for climate controls. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard, as are heated front seats and dual climate control. Steering-responsive LED front lights are also part of the deal, as is Subaru's EyeSight safety suite with enhanced pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise, lane centring, and other assistance features.
The Touring model is $29,995, and it trades the twin 7.0-inch screens for a tall 11.6-inch unit. This is new for the Impreza, but it's the same system we've seen in nearly every current Subaru vehicle. It has the wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with Subaru's Starlink-connected vehicle services and some extra USB ports. The Touring trim adds leather trim and a heated steering wheel, and it also offers push-button start, blind spot monitoring, lane change assist, and gear-selector paddles.
The RS model brings back a performance car badge Subaru used here before we got the WRX. Like the original 2.5 RS from 1998, today's has a 2.5L boxer four. This one makes 182 hp and 178 lb-ft and should be a big performance upgrade for the Impreza. Other RS bits include badges and 18-inch wheels, fake carbon fibre trim, and it has a 10-speaker Harman Karmon audio system. Pricing for this model starts at $31,795.
Sitting at the top of the lineup is the Canada-exclusive Sport-tech trim. For $34,795, it offers leather seats and silver grille trim. The Sport-tech includes satellite radio as well as navigation with What3words location functionality. Starlink adds DriverFocus distraction mitigation on this grade of the Impreza, as well as reverse automatic braking.
Subaru didn't say when the 2024 Impreza will arrive in showrooms, but with 2023 model year inventory almost gone, we would expect the model to show up shortly.
