The refreshed 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban full-size SUVs have debuted, bringing small changes outside but bigger ones within, including a larger infotainment screen and camera enhancements. The improved version of the Duramax diesel already launched on Silverado pickup will also join the lineup.
The exterior facelift is small and focuses on new signature lighting and revised welcome animations. There are also some new wheel designs, including 24-inch wheels available for the first time.
On the inside, the changes are much more noticeable. The dashboard has been revised around the new and standard 17.7-inch centre screen and 11-inch digital gauge cluster. The centre screen adopts touch buttons for climate settings, but they appear to be on the screen at all times. There is a physical volume control, though, with a neat animation to show how far it's been turned up.
The Tahoe and Suburban get a new centre console as well. The console's storage spaces are new, plus Chevrolet has moved the wireless charging pad to a more convenient location. New interior trim including real wood for the first time along with piano black and chrome is meant to help make higher-grade models look more sophisticated.
Under the long hood, the same 355-hp 5.3L V8 remains standard, with a 420-hp 6.2L V8 standard on the High Country model and available on RST, Z71, and Premier trims. The 3.0L Duramax inline-six diesel has been bumped from 277 hp and 460 lb-ft to 305 hp and 495 lb-ft. They're the same changes Chevrolet made to Silverado last year and come via a retuned turbocharger, higher-flow injectors, new pistons, and cooling system changes. The diesel arrives in 2025 and it will be available on the Z71 trim for the first time.
Under the list of changes that aren't glamorous but should improve the experience, Chevrolet has updated the rear suspension and the steering calibration. Tahoe and Suburban Chief Engineer Martin Hayes says ride and handling are "taken to the next level." Adaptive air ride and Magnetic Ride Control remain on the options list.
Towing tech upgrades include a revised Max Trailering package. New for this year, the package adds trailer tire health, a load rating info page in the trailering app, forward path lines on the surround view screens, a boat ramp assist checklist, and trailer route navigation via built-in Google Maps. Max towing remains unchanged at up to 8,400 pounds for Tahoe and 8,200 for Suburban when properly equipped.
Lastly, Chevrolet has added interior motion detection sensors and connected cameras. The former is to help alert you of break-ins but also to alert you if a child or pet has been left in the car. Connected cameras let owners see their vehicle, inside and out, using the truck's suite of cameras. The feature enables automatic crash recording, security recording, and on-command dashcam recordings as well as the live view.
The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban go on sale late next year. Expect pricing and other details nearer the on-sale date.
