The 2024 Nissan Rogue now comes standard with what the automaker says is the most fuel-efficient gas engine in its segment. Nissan now offers the more efficient 1.5L turbo engine on the base trim. The Rogue will also offer Google built-in for 2024, improving the model's connectivity and phone integration.
Last year's base 2.5L four-cylinder engine is gone. The 1.5L three-cylinder is now standard across the Rogue lineup, along with all-wheel drive. The turbo 1.5L engine delivers 201 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque, a big improvement over the 181 hp and 181 lb-ft of the 2.5L.
This is Nissan's variable compression engine, which can adjust its compression ratio to deliver maximum power when requested, as well as optimal fuel economy when you're not asking for maximum power. While the 2.5L with AWD returned an estimated rating of 9.2 L/100 km city and 7.2 highway, the 1.5L is estimated to deliver 8.4 and 6.7, making it a significant improvement.
Adding Google built-in to SL and Platinum grades adds Google apps to the 12.3-inch screen, even without your phone connected. That includes Google Maps with its point of interest and address searches, as well as calling and SMS features.
The 2024 Nissan Rogue gets a facelift as well as the tech changes. The grille is new, as are the inner taillights and the front and rear bumpers. The Rogue SL adds wireless device charging and a digital instrument cluster, while the Platinum gets an available Chestnut interior and has special exterior trim.
NissanConnect, the automaker's telematics app, now comes with a three-year trial instead of six months. It's standard on SV trims and up, and now lets owners control the heated seat and steering wheel functions on top of the remote start climate control.
The 2024 Nissan Rogue starts from $33,648 for an S AWD grade, an increase of $400 from 2023. The line tops out with the Platinum grade from $44,998. The 2024 Rogue is on sale now at dealers in Canada.
