A New Base Trim for Chrysler's Pacifica People Mover

Chrysler has just introduced a pair of new trims to the Pacifica minivan that lower the entry price of the all-new van. The two trims joining the lineup will be the LX and Touring. They're new to Canada but have been available in the U.S. since it launched earlier this year.

The new base model is the Pacifica LX. It has the same 3.6L V6 as the current trims and the same nine-speed automatic. It will have active noise cancellation, grille shutters, tinted windows, Stow 'n Go fold down second and third-row seating, and Uconnect multimedia with a 5.0-inch screen. The LX will start at $37,995. A backup camera will be an option, as will the SafetyTec group, which includes blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic, and park assist with active braking.

Pacifica Touring starts at $39,995 and will have 17-inch alloys, power sliding doors, interior LED lighting, 12-way power driver's seat, and a power tailgate. It will have the same optional camera and SafetyTec package available.

The new trims lower the base price of the Pacifica by $6,000, making it much more accessible to buyers, but still notably higher than the Dodge Grand Caravan, which continues to be available in Canada for 2017. The LX and Touring trims are available to order now at dealers.
