Hyundai has revealed photos of its redesigned 2019 Santa Fe crossover ahead of the car's unveiling at the Geneva auto show in early March.
The images show Hyundai is letting its subcompact Kona lead the styling charge for its crossover range, as the Santa Fe shares that smaller vehicle's more aggressive nose.
Inside, we see an instrument panel design likewise cribbed from that of the Kona, with an infotainment display that rises, tablet-like, from the dash and a gauge cluster that places a digital speedometer front-and-centre. It's flanked by what look like engine temperature and fuel gauges, a la Honda Civic.
Presuming what we're looking at here is the five-seat Santa Fe Sport (and not the seven-seat XL), Hyundai says its mid-size crossover has gained about 70 mm in overall length, for 4,770, and stretches about 10 mm wider for an overall width of 1,890 mm. The automaker says the wheelbase is longer too, but doesn't say by how much.
There are no details yet about the new Santa Fe's powertrains, but Hyundai says the Santa Fe will be the brand's first vehicle to offer a rear cross traffic collision avoidance system that will apply the brakes if it senses a vehicle approaching from the side when the Santa Fe's driver is reversing out of a parking space.
