Cadillac's Latest Crossover Coming This Fall

Cadillac's latest crossover, the compact XT4, is arriving at dealers this fall. It will launch a new trim level strategy for the brand, in a new segment, and starts at under $40,000.

The XT4 was revealed at the New York auto show last month. The small luxury crossover will come with a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is an all-new design making 237 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The gearbox is a nine-speed automatic, and all-wheel drive is offered.

Cadillac's new trim strategy will give more distinction to the Premium Luxury and Sport trims that sit above the entry Luxury trim. The top models each have unique 20-inch wheel designs and the Sport model adds gloss black trim in place of the chrome on other trims, and a V-Series inspired mesh grille. Sport models will also have an available active suspension damping system.

All XT4s will get an 8.0-inch touchscreen that debuts a new version of Cadillac's CUE infotainment system. It adds a rotary controller for volume and seek functions in place of the previous Cadillac touch-slide controls.

When the XT4 arrives in the fall, prices will start at $39,900.
