Honda is adding a bit more sport to the Civic Si with a new Honda Factory Performance package that adds a body kit, sports suspension, and new track-day ready performance tires.
Adding some HFP to the Civic is nothing new for Honda. The automaker has released body kits, performance suspension parts, and bigger wheels for the Civic for at least a decade using that banner, as well as for the Fit.
This latest Civic HFP gets its own trim level. Delivered from the factory to be what Honda calls capable of tracking on the weekends. And, at least for now, it's Canada-only.
Adding to the look of the Civic Si, the HFP model adds a front lip and new side skirts that are designed to increase downforce and give the car a unique look. Accompanying the body bits are 19-inch matte-black wheels, up from 18-inches on the standard Si. Underhood is the 205 hp, 192 lb-ft turbocharged 1.5L four-cylinder engine with six-speed manual and limited slip differential from the base Si.
Wrapped around those 19-inch wheels are Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. These are maximum-performance category rubber, designed for track day grip and with a cool velvet-effect sidewall. Keeping those tires planted is an HFP sports suspension with that modifies the adaptive dampers of the base Si to make sport mode more sporty and comfort mode more comfy. Perfect for the lapping day and the long drive home. Inside, the HFP gets special floor mats and a leather-wrapped shifter.
The HFP is on sale now, in coupe and sedan form with a limited range of colours. The coupe starts at $34,790 with the sedan at $34,390. That's $5,700 more than a regular Si.
