Honda is giving the Civic sedan and coupe a slight refresh for 2019. The car is also getting more standard active safety equipment and a new Sport trim.
Honda Sensing gets added to every trim of the Civic Sedan and Coupe. That means collision mitigation braking, forward collision warning, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, and radar cruise control on even the base model.
The Civic was new for 2015, so it's time for a bit of a cosmetic upgrade. Both sedan and coupe now get the piano black nose of the hatchback in place of the chrome trim of last year. The lower fascia is restyled and the headlights get an update. A new chrome accent is on the rear bumper of the sedan. New alloys, with the Touring trim getting 18s completes the appearance changes.
A new Civic Sport sits near the top of the lineup, between EX and Touring. It adds piano black trim to the lower front fascia and side pods, and the sedan gets a decklid spoiler and an Si-style rear bumper. Sport wears 18-inch alloys with a black finish. The trim uses the 2.0L, 158 hp four, with either a six-speed manual or a CVT. Inside, the Sport trim uses an updated 7.0-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a volume button. It also has Honda's Lanewatch camera and a moonroof.
The 2019 Civic goes on sale later this year.
