Kia Prices 2020 Soul EV and 2019 Niro EVs

Kia is expanding and updating its EV lineup, adding a fully electric Niro and completely revising the Soul EV. Now we know how they'll be priced and it looks like both will qualify for the upcoming federal rebate.

The Niro is already on sale as a hybrid and a plug-in. This one's the EV-only model, arriving with a 64 kWh battery and an estimated 385 km range. The electric powertrain delivers 201 hp and 291 lb-ft of torque. It squeaks in under the $45,000 federal rebate at $44,995 in base trim. It can charge in 9.5 hours on a Level 2 connection or fast charge 80 percent in 75 minutes. That's the EX trim. The upscale SX Touring is $53,995, which means it will qualify for the incentive as well.

With the new 2020 Soul comes a new 2020 Soul EV. The new Soul gets the electric driveline from the Niro EV, which is a massive boost over the car that came before it. Since it offers similar power and a similar battery, we expect it to get a similar range. Where it does come up less is the starting price, at $42,595 in Premium trim. That's along with updated styling inside and out as well as some tech upgrades. The top Limited trim has an MRSP of $51,595

We're expecting both to start arriving at dealers shortly, but like the Hyundai Kona Electric, in relatively limited numbers.
