You may remember Henrik Fisker and his self-named car company, which gained a decent amount of popularity after releasing the attractive and rather intriguing Karma sedan.
Now the Danish designer has plans to return to the sustainable mobility segment with a new electric crossover, which it released a teaser image of this week.
Fisker first teased this funky looking, fully electric crossover with a design sketch earlier in the year, but this image, which appears to be a digital rendering, give us a much better idea of what the vehicle will look like.
As far as we can tell, the Fisker electric crossover will slot into the compact segment where it will probably square off with the forthcoming Tesla Model Y. In a tweet, Henrik Fisker said the car is "incredibly spacious" for its segment and said the cabin will be made up of recycled materials – just as the Fisker Karma's was.
Fisker also claims the unnamed electric crossover will have an 80 kWh battery pack providing roughly 300 miles of range, with prices starting from under $40,000 USD, or roughly $52,600 CAD. It will also have all-wheel drive, so it will likely be dual motor, with one mounted out front front and the other in the rear. The automaker hopes to put it on sale by 2021.
This all sounds quite promising, we're sure, but there is a small caveat. Henrik Fisker and his company already showed off the EMotion concept (above) back in early 2018, which it said would have a 400 mile range and Level 4 autonomous driving capability by the time it went on sale in 2019. We are now well into 2019 and still haven't heard any updates, so it seems as though Fisker has a habit of over-promising and under-delivering.
Let's hope the Fisker electric crossover remains on track for its 2021 target launch.
