Jeep has debuted the new line of concept vehicles that it will bring to the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari – a multi-day off-roading event held in the rough-terrain backcountry of Moab, Utah.
This year’s Easter Jeep Safari concept vehicles celebrate the automaker’s rich history, but more importantly, they also explore what’s yet to come, giving us an idea of where its styling direction is headed and what a battery-powered Jeep off-roader of the future might look like.

Jeep Magneto
Headlining the four 2021 Easter Jeep Safari concept vehicles is the Jeep Magneto – which is essentially a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with a battery-electric powertrain. The Magneto is powered by a single electric motor, which produces 273 pound-feet of torque, and has a 70 kWh lithium-ion battery pack running on an advanced 800V architecture. Jeep claims it will be able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in around 6.8 seconds, but did not provide an estimated range figure.
This battery-powered Wrangler also gets a two-inch suspension lift, 17-inch wheels with huge 35-inch off-road tires, a custom roll cage, Mopar rock rails, a steel front bumper with an integrated a Warn winch, steel rear bumper and a steel belly pan. A Bright White body color with Surf Blue accents, blue and black leather interior upholstery and Mopar-branded floor mats complete the package.
Jeepster Beach
While the Jeep Magneto gives us an idea of what’s to come from Jeep, the Jeepster Beach is a nod to its storied past. This custom open-air off-roader is based on the 1968 Jeepster Commando, but features an abundance of parts from a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, including the 270-hp 2.0L turbocharged engine and eight-speed automatic transmission. Inside, the Jeepster gets a custom interior with low-back seats trimmed in red leather, a chrome four-point safety cage and the dashboard and center console from a 2020 Wrangler Rubicon.
“Jeepster Commandos were made for fun in the sun, and this ultimate beach-themed cruiser continues that tradition by embodying a spirited, carefree attitude,” the automaker says of the Jeepster Beach.
Jeep Red Bare
The Jeep Red Bare is the only Easter Jeep Safari concept based on the automaker’s Gladiator pickup truck. This is potentially the most capable of the four concepts, boasting Dana 44 front and rear heavy-duty axles with 4.88 axle ratios, a two-inch lift, tough 17-inch off-road wheels shod in massive 38-inch BF Goodrich tires, thick rock rails and factory steel bumpers with a front Warn winch.
Power in the Red Bare comes from Jeep’s 260-hp 3.0L inline-six diesel engine, which sends power to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Jeep says the transmission has been specially tuned for low-RPM shifts and rigorous off-road driving, making it ideal for Moab’s tough trails. The truck also has an impressive 91:1 crawl ratio, enabling it to climb steep grades with ease.
The interior is mostly stock, though Canadian Jeep fans will be happy to see the Red Bare gets some Canuck-inspired red-and-black plaid seating upholstery.
Jeep Orange Peelz
The Jeep Orange Peelz concept is based on a two-door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, but expands on the package with a number of performance upgrade parts. These include a two-inch suspension lift with Fox shocks, high-top fender flares, beadlock capable aluminum wheels shod in BF Goodrich KM3 tires, bright five-inch LED off-road lights and a two-inch steel grille guard, among more.
The Orange Peelz also peels away (get it?) the Wrangler's regular doors and side window glass, replacing them with low-rise half doors for a true open-air off-roading experience. Power comes from a bone stock 3.6L V6 engine, which is paired to the Wrangler’s available six-speed manual transmission.
