After not driving a Porsche Cayenne for a couple of years, and being curious about how the second generation is holding up in an increasingly competitive large SUV market, I gave my colleagues at Porsche a call and asked what models they have for test drives. There is one available, they told me. But it’s the Cayenne S E-Hybrid. Could I really give Porsche’s only EV SUV a fair shake over a full week of driving?

Issue: On certain vehicles, covers were not installed over the horizontal headlamp adjusters. As a result, the headlamps may be adjusted horizontally. Canadian regulations do not allow for horizontal headlamp adjustment unless the vehicle is equipped with a built-in aiming device. Safety Risk: Headlamps that are not properly adjusted could cause reduced visibility or glare for oncoming drivers, and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install caps over the headlamp adjustment screws.

On certain vehicles equipped with an optional ski bag, the fastening strap for the ski bag may have been sewn with incorrect thread. This could cause the strap seams to tear in the event of crash, which would increase the risk of injury to the passengers. Correction: Dealers will replace the affected ski bags. Note: 72 of the affected ski bags may have been sold as an accessory part through Porsche Dealers.
