Isuzu 1978-2000Change

Impossible to replace. Tows our 4 ton sailboat and snowmobile trailer with ease. Our bikes fit inside upright on a bike stand , safe and secure. Glass headlights look new as does the original paint. And it hasn't needed a a dealer only part in 25 years so the no dealerships in 20 years doesn't matter. It's shared the driveway with 2 Saturn's, 3 Saabs, 2 Jetta's all of which are in the junkyard now except the current Jetta (soon to be). Hoping the trooper has another 25 years in it as there is nothing to buy!!!

I'm only the 2nd owner of this reliable sharp looking mid size SUV. It's been a very solid vehicle for me. Lots of life left!

I've owned a few of these cars over the years, they are a riot to drive. The best way to describe them is they are as close to a go-kart as you can get! Main issues with them are electrical grounding, rust, and faulty ignition modules. The Isuzu built motors from the 88 and 89 are bullet proof otherwise, they are a little unrefined and the valve set is typically pretty chatty, but very durable and reliable.

The Isuzu Trooper is a largely unknown and overlooked make /model. Very few people know they exist.

My '98 has only had 1 minor warranty item (vacuum 4WD vacuum assisted actuator, value <$100) and 2 minor repairs (intake gasket leak and worn-out starter) in 15 years.

With snow tires it is pretty well unstoppable in the mountains and brakes very well.

Handling is typical of all SUVs with high center of gravity.

Overall its the best purchase I ever made. I will keep it as long as possible. I see it as a strong competitor against the Toyota Forerunner. It's just not on many people's shopping list. Resale is probably weak compared to the Toyota.

This car has taken me everywhere. I have had it for almost two years, and it beloged to my mother before that. This car will take you through bushes, rivers, over mountains, and beyond. The only reason I am selling the trooper is because I am a student and I need to downsize, and because I am living in Vancouver now, and an amazing car like this doesnt belong in the city.

Everything about this car is average. The comfort is above average, but is offset by performance. Fuel economy is alright, but styling suffers. The car is generally reliable, but of course will have some drawbacks. Overall, average, average, average.

Awesome and Outrageous. This is one of the best suvs i have ever owned in my life. Every time you drive it you just smile. Every where you go it turns heads. SO much fun to drive.

This vehicle was made to tackle mountain passes and off-road dirt tracks, it can definitely handle a Canadian winter.
Push button 4WD also with Hi & Low Gears, great for winter.
Engine is strong & purrs.

Has good looks, styling, responsiveness & is fun to drive.
3.2 L, with V6 and is pretty good on fuel, with a manual 5 Speed Transmission.

Seats 5 comfortably (2 front bucket seats & 3 in back seat) or back seats fold down for extra cargo room.

4 Doors with rear hatch that opens 2 different ways

Our car has been great- toughing through the snow and ice, it always performs and drives safely- even if we don't turn the 4 wheel drive on! All the seats are very comfortable. While fuel economy is not the best, this car is very safe and reliable. There is a lot of storage space in the trunk- perfect for family camping and skiing trips. We have had to replace the brake pads several times, but given the age of the car, we don't have anything that we can really complain about! The car is very solid, and a great car for the kids to learn to drive on.

I have had my Isuzu for just about 10 years now. It is super comfortable and very reliable. I have never had any issues with the vehicle minus just your basic upkeep. I highly suggest a Rodeo if you are in the market for a used vehicle
