Reliable car!
This car is a great car and very reliable. With gas prices these days, it is important to have a car that is great on gas. The Saturn Astra is just that! You can't go wrong with this car. It has been great to us.

Good little car
Nice little car for getting around and looks good also but was just to small for my needs. Body it all plastic so dents and dings are a thing of the past.

Great on gas!
This Saturn Astra is a great hatchback. It is small in size but lots of room inside. With the price of gas these days, it is important to save on gas. This car is great on gas and is a great commuter car. The Saturn Astra is a very reliable car and we have had no issues with it. The only reason we are selling is because I now have a company vehicle and have no room in my drive way for three vehicles.

Great economical car
Excellent touring vehicle. Gas miser. No rust. It has fibreglass door panels so there are no dents. Engine is efficient and quiet. Transmission shifts will percision. Interior has rich features for such a small vehicle. Wagon provides lots of room for those trips to the cottage or to Florida in the winter.

Great Little car!!
This has been one of the best cars I have owned!! For a hatchback there is a lot of room, and once the seats fold down its surprising how much you can fit in the back! The handling is great. No issues or reairs have needed to be done outside of regular maintenance.

2004 Saturn Ion

Stage 2 Upgrade Makes It Go !
I've owned my 2004 Saturn Ion REDLINE since brand new. About 30K in to it I did the GM Performance Stage-2 Upgrade Kit which bumped it up to about 245hp. It's been a very reliable car with only a couple of problems ( when looking back were likely due to a lousy mechanic at Springman Saturn in Langley BC.)
I only have 2 complaints: one is that it is front-wheel dirve. There are faster cars out there, but not too many that can beat it without a "fight". It rides nice, corners well, the Recaro seats are comfortable, the suicide-doors are a BONUS. My second complaint is that it uses Premium gas, but since new my overall (combined-real life) gas mileage is 10.2L/100km.
This car pulls very strong in 2nd gear.

A great vehicle - inside and out!

It has been meticulously kept and has never been in an accident. I just bought it from a friend who had it since it was brand new, and she loved it. I do too, but I have to sell, as I'm living in downtown Toronto and don't need it. :(

It has had a recent oil change, safetied, certified, e-tested.

2002 Saturn SL

My Sweet Saturn
My 2002 model is one of those good old saturns. Its not like the cheap new ones. It might not be fancy but its a quality car. I can get 55 miles per gallon on the higway, and its not a complicated hybrid, its not a winter hating diesel, Its 12 years old with technology from 15 years ago. I find that absolutely amazing. My cars got 240,000 kms and its still going strong. Inexpensive to purchase, insure, mantain and fuel, its one of the most ecnomical and practical vehicles out there. My car was made when Saturn really wanted to build a good name and put out quality products. It's one of the good old saturns. It still puts out a decent amount of torque even if its not a race car.

My first car!
This was my first car, bought used and it served me well. It was AMAZING on gas but that was slightly overshadowed by the fact that it burned oil like nobody's business. I was told by a few mechanics something along the lines of 'must be a GM'. :(

It was a little car that got me places and I have nothing but fond memories of this great first car.

Trim: 3DR XR Hatch 5 Spd Leather

Under the RADAR!!
Pity this car is no longer offered new in N.America, the last year was 2009 when GM killed Saturn. This car is highly underrated, and under the RADAR as far as most car purchasers are concerned. Check it out; it was 2008 MotoringTV Car of the Year. At the time of writing, Astras are still available new and exceptionally popular in Europe where they know economy cars and by virtue of this fact ensures, like the MINI, that parts will be available for many years to come. I bought my Astra XR new and have only needed to give it gas, routine service and occasional washing to keep it happy, very reliable. Exceptional European styling that rivals that found in higher end offerings! Mine came with perforated leather interior, stitched leather steering wheel and stick shift, plus all kinds of included features not seen on higher end cars, not even as pricey options. I shorted the interior design by one star because I found the entertainment system controls overly complicated, but techies may love it. The drivetrain shifts quickly and precisely so it’s not exactly an underpowered 5 spd, but for such a sporty car with such wonderful sport suspension included in the XR package, at just 138 hp, it longs for only a few more horses to reach full potential, but then I suppose it’s good gas economy would suffer, you can't have everything. Sharp exterior lines along with multi spoke 17" alloys make it look like it is moving even when parked. I will definitely be hard pressed to replace this one when the time comes. Low mileage used XR and XE versions can both be easily found at bargain basement prices, simply because they are so under appreciated.

Fun little car to drive
I owned a great little Saturn and sometimes wish I had not sold it. It was extremely economical with a 5 speed transmission. Loved the suicide door. I was also pleased with the fact that the body did not rust. My reason for selling it was that my children were getting much bigger and involved in sports and it was not big enough for hauling large hockey bags. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone. Keep up the regular maintenance and they will last forever.

The car handles really smooth. On Star options. Great bang for your buck when it comes to gas! The hatch back fits all your shopping needs! Plenty of leg room, front and back. I would get this car again, when I looking for an automobile!!

An inexpensive family car
I love my Saturn Wagon. It handles well, and I'm surprised that all of the electronic components still work after 10 years. With regular maintenance, this car has not needed anything yet. The best feature was adding an extra outlet in the back to plug in the DVD or game systems for the kids when we go on long trips. The only downfall, now that these cars are no longer made, is that getting parts will be harder when I do require them.

Saturns - wish they still made them
Have had the car since new in 2005 and have had very little issues with it. Replaced the fuel rack this summer which cost about $200. Overall a nice ride and is good on fuel.
No major complaints and would buy a new one if they still made them.

Gets the job done!
I find this car to have a comfortable ride. Has all the necessities, and gets pretty good fuel milage. However its not the most reliable. Most of my issues have been electrical. The computer analysis part that diagnosis issues, has major issues of its own! It constantly says to check the coolant, engine, airbags etc. despite there not being anything wrong with them. Its fine for me to drive around like this, but it makes it difficult to sell!!!! oh and the cost of fixing this problem is about $1500!!! I find the car is very cheaply made. Weather stripping is poorly done. Motors on the wipers have constant issues. Will the car get you from point A to point B, most of the time yes. But I wouldn't give it the longest life expectancy!

Just Okay
In the early days, this car had good gas mileage, etc. Late in the car's life - nothing but problems. Gas milage became terrible, and there were constant issues with the engine. That said, because of the unique body of the car, I never had any issues with rust and in a winter climate with lots of road salt, that was a plus. It's a good car and it's lasted a long time, but now that it's old, it's not performing at all like it used to. Toyotas, in my experience last a lot longer.

Great Gas Milage
I bought this car used, it is an awesome vehicle when it comes to gas milage.
The only problems I have had with it is it has an oil leak and replaced the rad. . Most parts you can buy for it are usually a good cheap price except the glass.

Reliable and ding-free!
Having been a sttudent when I bought this car (and I'm now a professor, but still park among students in a combined lot), I'm happy to say that the plastic side pannels have done their job- not a single ding (and I'm sure it's been hit...but there is no evidence of it!). I only wish I could still buy a Saturn :(
